About Me
I am a dedicated Engineering Technologist and transformational leader committed to advancing the engineering profession, strengthening technical excellence, and expanding opportunities for Engineering Technologists, Technicians, and Artisans in Kenya and beyond. With a strong foundation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and ongoing postgraduate research in Mechatronic Engineering, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, innovation leadership, and professional service.
Currently, I serve as Technologist at the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), where I actively contribute to engineering training, research support, and mentoring future technologists. Beyond academia, I practice professionally as a Solar Technician and Electrical Installation Technologist, implementing sustainable energy solutions and delivering professional engineering services guided by safety, ethics, and accountability.
My leadership experience extends across institutional transformation initiatives. I have served in key strategic roles within TUM, including:
- Digitalization Committee – advancing innovation and efficiency in technical operations
- Innovation Committee – driving engineering creativity and industry collaboration
- Gender Mainstreaming Committee – advocating inclusion, fairness, and equal opportunities in STEM
- Academic Quality Assurance Auditor (TVET) – promoting professional standards in technical training
I have also led impactful engineering projects such as the design and installation of a 5kW off-grid solar power systemto support ICT infrastructure resilience at TUM.
